Modern Metal is a leading aluminum die casting manufacturer in China. The company is a major supplier of highly-engineered aluminum die casting products in the global automotive, climate control and industrial automation markets. Customers include leading multinational companies in the US, Europe and Asia.
Modern Metal has a production capacity of around 16,700 tonnes per annum at its two facilities located in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. Over 200 employees are engaged in R&D, focusing on new projects and the development of manufacturing techniques. Modern Metal is one of the largest and fastest growing OEM manufacturers in the region.
Modern Metal was started in Hong Kong in 1969 by FUNG Chau To. In 1992, the first plant in China was opened.
In June 2016, EQT Greater China II (“EQT Greater China”) sold its 30% share in Modern Metal, together with the founders who have sold 49% share, to JD Capital, one of the largest private equity firms in China.
